Write Off Whiz

If I don't win, you don't pay.

Your insurance company has deemed your vehicle a write-off. Their first offer isn't your only option.

Whether your vehicle was written off due to a collision or unrecovered theft, insurance companies routinely undervalue total loss claims. The higher the value of your vehicle, the greater the potential there is of your insurance provider saving money by undervaluing your vehicle.

The process

Here's exactly what I do for you.

This is the real, step-by-step process I follow on every single case. A process with proven results. No vague promises.

  1. 01

You send me the insurer's valuation report.

Share the offer your insurance company gave you. Simply forward the email with the valuation report to help@writeoffwhiz.ca. That's all I need to get started.

  2. 02

I compare it to live market data.

I use a real-time market data tool that shows current retail prices for comparable vehicles — same year, make, model, options and mileage. Sometimes the initial offer is actually fair. If it is, I'll tell you honestly and you can move forward with confidence. If it isn't, we move to the next step.

  3. 03

You formally put the insurer on notice.

You send a simple email to your insurer stating that Write Off Whiz will be representing you in all matters going forward. From that point, I take over all communication. I copy you on every email and update you on phone conversations when beneficial.

  4. 04

I break down their comparables and build better ones.

The vehicles insurance companies use for comparison are often "as is" sales, have accident history, out-of-province history, were former daily rentals or fleet vehicles, are missing options, or are private-sale listings that may be fake or from unlicensed "curbsiders." Many listed prices are finance-buyer pricing only, cash price can be thousands more. I identify every flaw in their list, then build my own list of properly priced, identically equipped, safety-certified comparables that give an accurate picture of what your vehicle is worth.

  5. 05

I negotiate directly with the adjuster and their management.

Armed with the evidence, I negotiate on your behalf until we reach a fair and equitable settlement. You only pay me if I win, and only after you've received payment from your insurer. You are never out of pocket.

My fee

A service that pays for itself.

My fee is 20% of the difference between the insurer's initial valuation and the final settlement — calculated on the pre-deductible, pre-HST values. If I don't win you more money, you pay nothing.

  • If I don't win, you don't pay
  • You only pay after you've received payment from your insurer
  • You are never out of pocket at any point in the process
  • Your insurance policy may include a provision for a third party to negotiate on your behalf. Yes, your insurance provider may actually cover my fees to fight them.
Worth knowing

Check the fine print of your policy. Some insurers are required to reimburse you for hiring a third party to negotiate a fair settlement, which means your insurer could end up paying my fee.

Before you do anything

The insurance company is not on your side.
Here's what not to do.

  • Don't accept the first offer.

The initial offer rarely represents a truly fair and equitable replacement value.

  • Don't let them pressure you.

Tactics like threatening to remove your rental car are designed to make you rush. Take your time. Their pressure is a negotiation strategy, not a hard deadline.

  • Don't assume. Read your policy.

Know your coverages for rental cars and repair-facility storage. Don't trust any insurance company staff member to know or share the fine print of your policy.

  • Don't let emotions take over.

The adjuster doesn't care about the memories you have in that vehicle. To them, it's a file number. Keeping emotions out of negotiations is something I do for you.

  • Don't guess at your car's value.

Sentiment and guesswork won't hold up. The only thing that wins is real, current, comparable market data, and I have the tools to obtain it.

  • Don't fight a battle you're not equipped to win.

Insurance companies do this every single day. Hopefully, you only deal with a write off once in your lifetime. If you go into battle without product knowledge, live market data, and exceptional negotiating skills, you aren't in a position of strength.

Worth knowing

The adjuster's job is to save their employer money. It's my job to get you what you deserve.

Results

Real clients. Real results. Real reviews.

Every case is different but the pattern is the same. The insurer's first offer is rarely their best or final offer.
